OBC worked with acclaimed celebrity chef Aktar Islam to create a beautiful website for his prestigious restaurant, Opheem. The website needed to reflect the luxury presentation of the food and the interior design of the restaurant in order to create a consistent brand image. The project also involved running a launch campaign which proved hugely successful in building up Opheem’s email list. The campaign also created a lot of buzz around the opening with nearly 2,000 people entering the competition we ran for Opheem.
We worked very closely with Aktar on the website to make sure it was consistent with the rest of the brand. We conducted first-hand interviews with Aktar to flesh out his story and to build up the copy and story of Opheem. In the run-up to the restaurants opening, we created a separate landing page website before the main site went live. This landing page’s focus was to build up the email list by offering free tables around the opening of the restaurant. This competition was then promoted on high traffic sources in the area to build a buzz about the restaurant opening.
The competition was hugely successful and almost 2,000 people entered, with only 150 tables being given away. Email marketing is extremely effective, especially compared to social media. The focus on building an email list for Opheem meant that they have a large audience to market to going forward. We wanted to flesh out Aktar’s story to add a more human touch to the brand. He is a celebrity chef who is recognisable and our copy peels back the layers of his backstory, instead of using a regurgitated press release that other similar websites are guilty of. We wanted our copy to be beautiful, effective and unique to Opheem.
